In a remarkable display of skill and dedication, emergency medical technicians from EMRI Green Health Services delivered a baby boy inside a moving 108 ambulance in Tirap district,

Arunachal Pradesh. The ambulance was transporting a pregnant woman from Borduria PHC to the hospital when she went into labor near Bogapani. Suffering from pregnancy-induced hypertension, her condition required urgent attention. EMTs Phetat Wangsa and Laimhun Tongrang acted swiftly, successfully delivering the 3.4 kg baby en route. Both mother and child were later admitted to Mayflower Hospital in Margherita, Assam, and are reported to be in stable condition. This incident not only highlights the life-saving capabilities of the 108 ambulance service—operational in the state since June 2021 and having assisted over 26,000 people—but also underscores the importance of accessible emergency care in remote regions.
