The launch of RAJ-SURAKSHA (Rajasthan System for Urgent Response, Accident Stabilization, and Hospital Access) marks a major advancement in emergency medical infrastructure by the Government of Rajasthan. This statewide emergency response initiative is designed to provide faster medical assistance to road accident victims and heart attack patients, especially during the critical “golden hour” when immediate treatment significantly improves survival chances.
The RAJ-SURAKSHA system operates through a 24x7 critical care command and control centre, which coordinates emergency medical services across urban and rural regions. This centralized monitoring system will help optimize ambulance dispatch, track emergency cases in real time, and ensure that patients are transported to the nearest suitable hospital without delay. The initiative is particularly important for improving trauma care and cardiac emergency response across Rajasthan, where long travel distances can sometimes delay medical treatment.
As part of this project, the government plans the phased deployment of 250 advanced life-support ambulances equipped with modern medical equipment, oxygen support systems, and trained paramedical staff. These ambulances will be capable of providing pre-hospital stabilization treatment before patients reach hospitals. Such facilities are essential for managing severe road accidents, cardiac arrests, and other life-threatening emergencies.
The system is also expected to improve coordination between hospitals, ambulance networks, and emergency helplines. Using digital tracking and communication technologies, emergency responders can quickly identify the nearest available hospital with appropriate medical facilities. This technology-driven approach aims to reduce response time and improve medical outcomes for patients.
Another important aspect of RAJ-SURAKSHA is public awareness and accessibility. Citizens will be able to access emergency medical assistance through dedicated helpline numbers and digital emergency reporting systems. The program is aligned with national healthcare modernization goals and supports the development of smart emergency healthcare infrastructure in India.
Road safety and emergency healthcare are major concerns due to increasing traffic accidents and cardiovascular emergencies. By strengthening pre-hospital care services, RAJ-SURAKSHA aims to reduce mortality rates and improve healthcare accessibility in both urban cities and remote rural regions.
Overall, the RAJ-SURAKSHA initiative represents a significant step toward strengthening emergency medical response systems in Rajasthan. By combining advanced ambulance services, centralized command monitoring, and rapid hospital coordination, the program is expected to save more lives and improve emergency healthcare delivery across the state.
