Presided over by Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav and organised in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Forest Department, the event aims to raise awareness about elephant conservation and promote human-elephant coexistence. India, home to nearly 60% of the world’s wild elephant population, has established 33 elephant reserves and 150 elephant corridors, creating a strong protection framework. The celebrations will highlight strategies for reducing conflicts, ensuring safe elephant habitats, and encouraging community participation in conservation efforts.
