Terror Plot Foiled in Punjab: Huge Arms Haul Linked to Khalistani Terrorist Rinda Seized on India-Pakistan Border
Punjab, India – In a significant breakthrough for Indian security forces, a major terror plot aimed at destabilizing the country has been foiled along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab. The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), working with intelligence agencies, seized a huge consignment of sophisticated weapons allegedly smuggled from Pakistan under the instructions of notorious Khalistani terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda.
During a high-level operation, the AGTF recovered multiple AK-47 assault rifles, hand grenades, magazines, and a substantial quantity of ammunition. The cache was discovered concealed near the international border, indicating a well-organized attempt to smuggle arms into India for possible terror attacks.
Rinda’s Network Under Lens
Investigators revealed that Harvinder Singh Rinda, a key figure in Khalistani terror circles and closely linked to Pakistan-based networks, was the mastermind behind the shipment. Intelligence inputs had indicated that Rinda was planning to execute attacks to create unrest, particularly in Punjab and other sensitive regions of India.
Rinda, who has reportedly been operating from Pakistan, is wanted in multiple cases related to terrorism, arms smuggling, and organized crime. His attempts to revive Khalistani militancy pose a significant challenge for Indian security agencies.
Security Heightened Along Border

Following the seizure, security has been intensified across Punjab’s border districts. Senior police officials confirmed that combing operations and surveillance have been stepped up to prevent further smuggling or infiltration attempts.
“This recovery is a major success in thwarting the nefarious designs of anti-national elements who wish to disturb peace and harmony in Punjab and the country,” said an AGTF spokesperson. “We are investigating further to identify local contacts and logistical support networks that might have been involved.”
Pattern of Drone Drops and Smuggling
Over the past few years, Punjab has witnessed several instances of weapons and drugs being smuggled from Pakistan, often using drones. Officials suspect that this latest consignment could also be part of similar cross-border smuggling tactics.
The seizure underscores the persistent threat posed by Khalistani terror outfits and Pakistan-based handlers who aim to exploit Punjab’s proximity to the border to push weapons and radical propaganda into India.
Public Reassured
Authorities have appealed for public cooperation and vigilance. “Any suspicious activities or objects should be reported immediately to the police,” urged officials, highlighting the importance of community participation in maintaining security.
This successful operation is being seen as a major blow to the terror networks operating across the border and sends a strong message about India’s resolve to combat terrorism.
