The Telugu action-drama They Call Him OG (short: OG), starring Pawan Kalyan, has set a high benchmark in its initial run. According to trade reports and the film’s producers, by day 2, OG’s global collections have pushed it past the lifetime haul of Pawan’s earlier hit Bheemla Nayak. 

Box Office Breakdown & Milestones

On opening day (including paid previews), OG grossed ₹154 crore worldwide, as per DVV Entertainment. 

By the end of day 2, OG’s net collections in India reached approximately ₹103.50 crore. Added to that was ₹47.35 crore from overseas markets, bringing the two-day worldwide gross to about ₹171 crore. 

This performance means OG has overtaken Bheemla Nayak’s lifetime gross of ₹158.5 crore (as reported) in just 48 hours. 

However, day 2 did see a sharp drop: reports suggest an ~80% day-on-day dip from day 1 in global earnings. 

Even with the dip, OG remains a phenomenon given how quickly it has climbed the charts. It is now Pawan Kalyan’s highest grosser worldwide.

What This Means for Pawan & Telugu Cinema

For Pawan Kalyan, OG’s early success is not just about one film—it signals a strong resurgence. Beating Bheemla Nayak’s lifetime record in just two days shows that the audience appetite for his stardom remains potent. Industry watchers believe OG may soon cross the ₹200 crore mark globally, and possibly overtake other 2025 big releases. 

From the Telugu film industry’s perspective, OG’s performance underscores the growing strength of pan-India and overseas market interest in regional cinema. It also sets a new benchmark for action and gangster genre films in terms of scale, marketing, and global reach.

Sustaining momentum will be critical. That steep ~80% drop on day 2 is a warning sign that the film needs strong word-of-mouth. 

OG has to compete with other big releases of 2025 which are still in the run.
