 According to reports, a behind-the-scenes agreement—potentially involving Iran or direct negotiations—has granted Chinese-made carriers safe passage, saving nearly two weeks of detour time and significant shipping expenses compared to the longer route around Africa. Meanwhile, other international vessels continue to face heightened risk of attacks, underlining the strategic advantage Chinese carriers currently enjoy in this critical maritime corridor.
