The AICTE Pragati Scholarship is a flagship initiative by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to promote girls’ access to quality technical education.

 This scheme provides financial support of up to ₹50,000 per year to meritorious female students pursuing diploma or degree courses in AICTE-approved institutions. The scholarship covers tuition fees and offers a contingency allowance to help students meet academic expenses like books, software, and equipment.

To be eligible, applicants must be Indian girls enrolled in the first year (or second year via lateral entry) of a technical course through centralized admission, with an annual family income below ₹8 lakh. A maximum of two daughters per family can avail this scholarship. The scheme plays a critical role in encouraging women’s participation in STEM fields and empowering them to become self-reliant professionals.

Applications must be submitted online via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) during the official window (typically between July to October). Selected students receive the amount directly in their bank account through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

This scholarship not only reduces the financial burden on families but also promotes gender equity and inclusion in the field of higher education.
