300 Intellectuals Engaged to Shape Vision of ‘Developed Uttar Pradesh 2047’: CM Yogi Adityanath

Gorakhpur, Sept 22 — Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday announced that the state government has roped in 300 leading intellectuals to prepare a roadmap for Viksit Bharat–Viksit Uttar Pradesh 2047, a vision plan aligned with India’s development goals for the centenary of independence.

Addressing a workshop on the subject in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister said the experts include retired chief secretaries, senior bureaucrats, vice-chancellors, academics and policy professionals. These teams have been tasked with visiting universities and academic institutions across the state to hold consultations and gather suggestions from citizens, scholars, and students.

“The objective is to ensure that the voice of the people becomes the foundation of Uttar Pradesh’s long-term development roadmap,” Adityanath said. He stressed that Uttar Pradesh, being India’s most populous state, must play a leading role in the nation’s growth story.

The vision document, part of the Developed India–2047 initiative, aims to accelerate economic growth, expand employment opportunities, improve social welfare, and promote cultural renaissance. According to officials, the exercise will cover key sectors such as agriculture, education, health, industry, technology, infrastructure, and tourism.

The Chief Minister underlined that the state has already taken significant strides in areas like expressway construction, industrial investment, and law-and-order reforms, but now needs a long-term framework to sustain growth.

Workshops, panel discussions, and field consultations are scheduled to continue in the coming weeks. The inputs gathered will be compiled into a comprehensive Vision 2047 document, to be unveiled next year.
